Concussion and traumatic brain injury can affect balance, eye movements, vestibular function, concentration, activity tolerance, cervical function, and other neurological systems. CNC uses an individualized neurological evaluation to help identify findings that may guide management, rehabilitation, referral, and return-to-activity decisions.
Evaluation may include a detailed history and selected examination of eye movements, balance, vestibular function, coordination, cervical function, neurologic findings, symptom response, and activity tolerance.
The exact evaluation depends on the injury, symptoms, prior care, and whether additional medical testing or referral is needed.
When appropriate, management may include neurological-based exercises, vestibular or balance activities, graded activity, cervical care, education, and coordination with other healthcare professionals. The plan is adjusted according to findings and response over time.
