"I have never believed in Chiropractors until just recently. I have been a runner for over 20 years ... I started running again, and low and behold there was no more pain. ...It is Chiropractors like Dr.'s Kim and Groves that will make believers of us all."

My name is Oscar R. Lozano and I am Business Manager for a large oil company. I have never believed in Chiropractors until just recently. I have been a runner for over 20 years and have had my share of injuries over the years because of it. About 3 years ago my physician, an ex-runner himself, said I should quit running and save my knees for other sports like skiing, tennis, volleyball, etc. I was not having a problem with my knees when I went to see him; I went to see him for chin splints. Needless to say I ignored his advice. I continued to run.

Last year I got yet another foot injury, I was having some pain in my left heel. The pain started the morning after playing tennis. I could barely walk, but the more I walked on it the better it got. I went to see my physician and he said I had plantar fasciitis and he prescribed some anti-inflammatory pills. They did not work. For months I was unable to run, in order to keep in shape I began exercising on elliptical machines (they simulate the running motion, but without the pounding).

One day Dr. Groves was at 24 Hr. Fitness and was giving free evaluations. I went and talked with him about a lower back problem that I had developed some years ago that came and went. He checked my back and said my back was fine. I then mentioned the problem I was having with my heel and he said they could probably fix it.

I was very skeptical but decided to go in and see him anyway. He did a complete exam and found various minor things wrong with me. He then went to work on my foot. He determined that the bones in my feet and lower legs were not working like they should when I run, which was what was causing the pain. My bones were so bad Dr. Groves was unable to “pop” the bones in my feet. He had to call in Dr. Kim, who he referred to as the foot “Guru.” She too could not pop my foot bones. They were able to move them some and said I should start running again. By the way, after the very first visit I felt like I was walking more upright and felt great.

I started running again, and low and behold there was no more pain. I have been pain free ever since. You may be having trouble believing my story, but it is true. I always thought that Chiropractors were “quacks”, but boy was I wrong. I had heard that they worked wonders with migraines, but I never believed my friends, maybe because I don’t ever get headaches. One of my best friends has always strongly believed in Chiropractors, but I have never believed her. Now I sound just like her.

I would like to thank Dr. Groves and especially Dr. Kim for saving my life, it would have been very tough for me to not have been able to run again. It is Chiropractors like Dr.’s Kim and Groves that will make believers of us all. Come and see these tremendous Doctors, and they will turn your life around.

"My arches were completely collapsed and my normal activities of running and walking were impaired ... Dr. Kim was willing to work on my feet. ...

I have had pronated feet and bunions for about 5 years. My arches were completely collapsed and my normal activities of running and walking were impaired because of the lack of function.

I had trouble finding a Chiropractor who would make the foot adjustments which worked for me as my previous Dr. moved.

Dr. Kim was willing to work on my feet. She took a lot of time to be compassionate and concerned because I was feeling discouraged that I couldn’t find the right help. She was very positive, and got me back on a track, where I believed that I could get well.

It was important to me that I did not want to have surgery. Dr. Kim’s attitude was very uplifting. That for me, was half the battle. Apart from this, her expertise at foot adjustments was right on the problems. Over a period of three weeks, my feet are stronger and more mobile, and I have none of the knee problems or pain I used to have. She promotes health and empowers the patient, making them feel like she is committed to achieving results.

I really leave the office feeling healthier. You’re in capable hands with Dr. Kim and I wish her all the best for the future.

"... Intense situations at work started to give me constant neck, shoulder and lower back tension pains and stiffness... After the first week of adjustments I was amazed how much better I was sleeping and waking up."

I’m very pleased to highly recommend Dr. Karin Kim’s chiropractic care. I met her and Shad (Dr. Groves) at Dr. Stackwood’s promotional booth at the Fillmor Street Fair in San Francisco …

Normally, I am a very healthy, somewhat athletic person and able to cope with a high degree of stress. In fact, I’m usually in denial of stress related pain. However, intense situations at work started to give me constant neck, shoulder and lower back tension pains and stiffness, making it difficult to bend over, turn around and get out of bed in the morning. This was a major concern for me as I am a contract administrator and would not be able to obtain worker’s compensation if I was out of work.

Impressed with the way she (Dr. Kim) and Shad had given me a preliminary examination at the fair I decided to follow up with the office examination. Dr. Kim diagnosed and started treating me as she explained the mechanics and the causality of my pains.

After the first week of adjustments I was amazed how much better I was sleeping and waking up. The succeeding treatments continued to correct bone alignment and improved motion.

She targeted areas that contributed to my bone alignment problems that created pain, i.e., tennis elbow from using my compruter mouse, flat feet, uneven leg length that caused my body to compensate and play a part in my back problems.

Dr. Kim is a very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, energetic, enthusiastic and empathetic doctor. Always ready to spend the time to give a full answer t all of my questions and address known and inknown concerns… and I had many! It’s comforting to know when you ask a question.. you get an answer! I’m definately a lifelong supporter of chiropractic care.

I will truly miss her her in San Francisco but I know she will have a very successful family chiroprictic office wherever she hangs her “Chiropractic Doctor is In” sign. I know she will achieve great success with all the patients she meets.

"We can not negotiate good health. We must work to maintain our health and not ignore or push off symptoms."

My name is Sis. Shiree Sarana and I am a client of Dr. Kim. I have been a client of dr. Kim’s for about a month. She has asked me to write a few words about the healing process because she feels I have a fairly good grasp of what that means. It is my greatest hopes that all who read these words will find healing and inspiration in them!

We all must become ever diligent when it comes to our health maintenance. Too often we place many factors ahead of ourselves such as Work, School, Significant others, Spouses, Children and a host of other “importants”. Why is that? Is it due to the fact that when we become “adults” we get “programmed” into the “rat race” which is really killing us internally. We can not “negotiate” good health. We must work to maintain our health and not ignore or push off “symptoms.”

Focusing on “self” is not an arrogant thing when done in balance. We should approach our health from a “balanced” perspective focusing on the mind, body and soul. When we value ourselves, value life, value the unique gifts that we bring to the world then we will be driven to maintain our health. It is only then, as healthy people that we will be able to help extend our liveas and look “good” as we age! “Alone time” is also an absolute necessity. Meditation, quiet time, time to listen and speak with the creator or simpy focusing on your inner being, that true “self” that you can not lie to or about.

With all the hustle in the world taking time to listen to the birds, recognize nature, be still time can be a rare treat! There are a number of healing ways to be at peace, find the one that soothes you and seize the opportunity. Be non-negotiable about! Strive to have your “alone time” around the same time daily so that it becomes like breathing. Soon it won’t be a conscious thought, it will be like breathing. As challenges happen in your life, be like water. Water can take many forms the non-threating form and the typhoon. Strive to find a healthy balance for yourself. Do not allow the personal negative issues of others to be your burden. Smile, first to yourself and continue throughout your day. don’t concern yourself with th e ones who don’t reciprocate, you be your magnificent self anyway.

When we do finally go to our doctor/healer we must have realistic goals. We cannot expect that nagging pain, cough, burn, ache or lump to go away if we continue to ignore it. Nor should we go to our doctors with unreasonable expectations of how long our cure/recovery time is going to take. Bottom line, the longer we take to get ourselves checked out the longer our recovery and we heighten having a shorter life expectancy. For me it took painful breathing before I said “That’s it” and found Dr. Kim. I have decided to be non-negotiable about me health and healing. Believe me, as a wife and mother of six children and working a job while pursuing my writing career, this is a monumental feat for me!

We must put our health and healing at the forefront of our daily task. Look at it this way, how much can you accomplish if you are dead? We must begin to pass on the gift of life. How? By being an example on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We learn my watching others so why not teach as well? This is definitely something that we should want to pass on the the generations.

Remember, be light, be peace, be love but dare to be and be better than you were yesterday because perfection is the objective but being a healthy human being can and should be our daily reality.

Peace & Blessings to you all,
Sis. Shiree Sarana

"I've been to several chiropractors throught the years, and 'good' ones at that...but I don't think I've ever had a doctor spend so much time with me."

After years of being a competitive bodybuilder, I thought I knew my body pretty well. Until I met Dr. Groves ) I’ve been to several chiropractors throught the years, and ‘good’ ones at that…. but when faced with a herniated disc (11mm at L5-S1) I needed to try everything I could.

A friend of mine recommended Dr. Groves and I must admit, I don’t think I’ve ever had a doctor spend so much time with me. Testing, explaining, testing some more … and really helped me learn ‘how’ my nerves can affect things like breathing, headaches, and even eye sight.

I am still seeing Dr. Groves as well as Dr. Kim … and drive 30 miles to get there. It will take some time, but with their full body approach I’m sure, I’ll be back pumpin’ iron in no time )
